林冬波，2009年在嶺南師範學院獲學士學位，2016年在重慶大學獲博士學位(碩博連讀)。2016年至2022年在深圳大學從事博士後研究工作。2022年至今，在太阳集团1088vip從事教學和科研工作。

長期從事番茄及菠蘿果實成熟與品質形成的調控機制研究，主要從小RNA表觀遺傳調控層面探究果實在生長發育、成熟衰老以及采後貯藏過程的轉錄後調控機制，為提高果實産量和改善果實品質提供理論依據。在Plant Biotechnology Journal、Physiologia Plantarum、Scientia Horticulturae、Postharvest Biology and Technology等學術期刊發表論文4 篇。主持1項中國博士後科學基金項目，參與多項國家自然科學基金項目。
